Treasure Coast to Okeechobee Roundtrip

This route offers a cross section of eastern-Florida terrain.

We start in the town of Stuart and head inland past cattle pasture and equestrian ranches until we bump into Lake Okeechobee.

Then north-west along the lakeshore past sport fishing camps to connect with a fast run through open countryside into urban Fort Pierce.

After a refreshment break in Fort Pierce we enjoy a leisurely ride south past multiple beaches on South Hutchinson Island.

An opportunity to see the House of Refuge museum and then refreshment in downtown Stuart.

Be careful when near the beaches on this route as wind-blown beach sand can often cover the road and reduce traction.
